What Interest Khata is

A tool to record money you give and get, and to calculate interest on it. It is not a lender, a bank, a payment service or a financial adviser. No money moves through Interest Khata.

Your responsibilities

• Enter correct amounts, dates and interest settings, and check important figures.
• Follow the laws that apply to you, including any state money-lending act, licence or interest limits, and income-tax rules on cash loans.
• Use reminders and shared links politely. Never use them to threaten or harass anyone.

Calculations and warnings

We work hard to calculate interest correctly under the settings you choose and we show every step. Warnings, for example when unpaid interest nears the principal, are general information, not legal advice.

Your data

Your khatas are yours. How we handle them is explained in our privacy policy.

Availability

The app works offline. Backup and shared links need our servers, which we aim to keep available but cannot promise will never be interrupted.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from entries or settings you made, from decisions based on the app’s figures, or from interruptions of the service.

Ending use

You can stop using Interest Khata and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts used to break the law or these terms.
